ABOUT LEH

Incomparable natural beauty - Leh, nested in the Karakoram and Himalayan ranges, is like a fairy tale place, perfectly located on the banks of the renowned Indus River with all its majesty and amazing sceneries.  Leh valley attracts tourists from all over the world to its lap all through the year to witness the ancient Buddhist monuments, Mosques dating back to 16th and 17th centuries and a nine storied palace called as  Sengge Namgyal constructed in Tibetan architectural style. 

Leh is the land of Lamas, the Buddhist Monks and is mainly populated by Buddhists, Muslims & Hindus. Since the 8th century people belonging to different religions, particularly Buddhism and Islam, have been living in harmony in Leh. Leh houses numerous Buddhist monuments, monasteries and study centers. Shanti Stupa and Sankar Gompa are some of them. 

Lately, Leh has immensely grown to a big trade centre in Central Asia, with many trading opportunities for the motivated and dedicated young traders. Shopping is an experience in Leh. One can spot many local traders in the city selling out spectacular Tibetan motifs, jewellery, art & crafts, winter woolen clothes and decorated world famous hand and machine woven carpets. 

Since many years Leh is very famous for its unbounded offerings for the adventure lovers. It has numerous undiluted and vast terrains for the motor bikers and the trekkers. The road route from Manali or Srinagar is known to be one of the most beautiful roads in the world and is the real feast for the motor bike lovers. For bikers, the best route is Manali to Leh as it takes lesser time and allows you to enjoy some of the most mesmerizing sceneries. 

Feasting of the eyes is assured in Leh with the imposing pristine beauty of the snow capped Himalayan ranges in the backdrop. Tourists throng to this place during the month of August when the eye catching and breathe taking annual tourist festival is conducted. The adventurous tourists are invited to take up trekking in the challenging undulated Himalayan terrains.

Day 4 : Leh- Early morning fullday excursion to Pangong Lake 135 km from Leh - one of the most amazing Lakes in the entire Himalays which is nearly 140km long and 3-5km in width mmore than half of which lies in Tibetan territory. Day 4 : Nubra Valley – Leh

Morning  visit Samstanling Monastery and then drive back to Leh via Khardongla pass.  Evening free in Leh bazaars for last minute shooping, in Leh items like pure Pashmina shawls, good pearls, Chinese cutleries and beautiful Ladakhi wooden handicrafts can be purchased. Overnight at the hotel. 

Day 5 : Leh – Delhi - Early morning transfer Bakula Airport to board flight for your onward destination.

Checkin at the hotel in Leh on returning back from Ulleytokpo or Alchi and after some rest around 4:00 pm visit the 16th  century built 9 story high Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa. Day 4: Leh to Khardongla Pass to Leh- Drive on the Nubra Valley highway to visit Khardongla pass 40km at 18380 ft-the world highest motorable pass. Back to your Hotel for lunch. Later in the afternoon visit Moti market where you can shop for for some of the most interesting local jewelleries and curios and local apricot bazaars etc. Overnight at the hotel.  

Day 5 : Leh to Pangong Lake & Back
Early morning fullday excursion to Pangong Lake 135 km / 4400m east of Leh crossing Chngla Pass 17500ft and driving via Durbuk and Tangtse villages in the Changthang region of Ladakh and perhaps one of the most amazing lakes in Asia which changes its color 4 – 5 times a day. Evening free in the market. Overnight at the hotel. 

Day 6: Leh – Departure - Early morning transfer to airport at around 6:00 am, to board flight for onward destination.

At your Hotel for lunch and later in the afternoon visit Shanti stupa which offers the best aerial views of Leh town and the 16th century built former palace of the Kings of Ladakh i.e. Lehchen Palkhar or Leh Palace.

Day 3: Leh – Nubra Valley- Drive to Nubra valley 125km via Khardongla pass-world highest motorable pass. Afternoon visit the white Sand Dunes, Double Humped Camels  & Diskit Monastery. Overnight at tented Camp.

Day 4: Nubra - Leh - Morning after breakfast at leisure or if desired you can visit Samstanling Monastery in Keygar village.  Later drive back to Leh and arrive by late noon. Evening free and overnight at the Hotel.

Back to Leh by evening and free at leisure. Overnight at the hotel. 

Day 3 : Leh  - Drive on the Nubra Valley highway to visit Khardongla pass 40km at 18380 ft-the world highest motorable pass. Back to your Hotel for lunch. Day 4 : Leh – Tsomoriri Lake- Early morning drive along Indus River into Rupshu Valley. A nice wilderness drive upto Tso-Moriri Lake 4200m / 220km east of Leh, box lunch for the day. Arrive Tsomoriri by late noon and checkin the camp. Evening relax and overnight at the tented Camp at Korzok village by Lake side, Korzok is the only village and one of the most high altitude settlements in Ladakh. 

Day 5 : Tso Moriri Lake- Today you shall explore the Lake area and we suggest you to take a nice walk along the lake shores. Back to Camp for Lunch and later visit the nomadic village of Korzok and its small monastery. Tso Moriri Lake is a famous Bird watching sanctuary so carry your Binocular which shall be very helpful. Overnight at the Camp.

Day 6 : Tso Moriri – Leh- Morning drive back to Leh, enroute visit Chumathang Hot sulphur springs and Thiksey Monastery. Evening free in Leh bazaar. .

Day 7: Leh Delhi (Flight) - Early morning transfer to airport to board flight for your onward destination

Later in the afternoon visit the Royal Stok Palace Museum followed by visit to Ladakhi Family Home for local butter tea ,  Barley drink etc. Overnight at the hotel in Stok.

Day 5: Stok to Pangong & back 
Early morning fullday excursion to Pangong Lake 135 km / 4400m east of Leh crossing Chngla Pass 17500ft and driving via Durbuk and Tangtse villages in the Changthang region of Ladakh and perhaps one of the most amazing lakes in Asia which changes its color 4 – 5 times a day. Day 6 : To Nubra Valley - After breakfast pack-up and rive to Nubra valley 142km from Stok via Khardongla Pass 5600m which is the world highest motorabble pass. On arrival in Nubra visit the white Sand Dunes near  Hunder  and Diskit Monastery. Overnight in Deluxe Camp. 

Day 7 : Nubra - Leh - Morning after breakfast at leisure and later drive back to Leh via the same route. Evening free in Leh Bazaars for shopping etc. 

Day 8: Leh – Delhi - Early morning transfer to airport to board flight for onward destination.

Day 1 : Srinagar  via Sonamarg to Kargil:
Morning pickup Srinagar & drive to Kargil 205km, enroute stop at Sonamarg 94km, a nice picturesque meadow for lunch and then crossover the Zojila pass 3900m . You will then reach Drass village which has the distinction of being the 2nd coldest place in the world after Siberia in Russia. Arrive Kargil town by evening and check-in at the Hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2 : Kargil to Ulley Camp - After breakfast drive to Ulleytokpo Leh 160km enroute visit the ancient Rock-cut Statue of Maitreya Buddha at Mulbekh village and later on stop for photo at the Lunar Like Landscapes near Lamayuru Monastery. Arrive Ulley Resort by evening stop for overnight this lovely resort. 

Day 3: Ulley to Leh Further to Leh 70km en-route visit Likir monastery, Indus & Zanskar river Sangam and Hall of Fame. Arrive Leh – the capital of Ladakh region by afternoon and check-in at the hotel. Rest for some time and fresher up. Later around 4:00 pm visit Shanti Stupa and Leh local bazaars. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Leh: Fullday Indus Valley tour includes visit to Shey Palace, Thiksey and  Hemis Monasteries, and Stok Palace.  Overnight at the hotel. 

Day 5: Leh – Nubra Valley - Drive to Nubra valley via Khardongla Pass. Afternoon visit the white Sand Dunes, Camels, Hunder  & Diskit Monasteries. Overnight at Deluxe Camp.

Day 6 : Nubra - Leh
Morning visit Samstanling Monastery/ free. Aafternoon drive back to Leh. Evening free. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 7 : Leh to Pangong Lake & back - Fullday excursion to Pangong Lake one of the amazing Blue Lakes in Ladakh. Back to Leh by evening.

Morning after breakfast drive back to Leh via Hemis & Thiksey Monasteris. Evening free  at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Leh – Nubra Valley- Drive to Nubra valley 125 km via Khardongla 18360 ft - world Highest motorable pass. Arrive Nubra by noon and checkin at the Camp/ Hotel. Later proceed to visit the white Sand Dunes, Camels  & Diskit Monastery. Overnight at tented Camp.

Day 6 : Nubra - Leh - Morning after breakfast visit Samstanling Monastery. Later drive back to Leh, packed lunch for the day. Arrive Leh by 4 pm and free for shopping in Leh bazaar. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 7 : Leh – Sarchu - After breakfast pack your bags and get ready for a terrific Himalayan jeep safari towards Manali 474 kms. The two days safari is considered one of the most amazing mountain journeys in the Himalayas. The first night halt will be at Sarchu 222 kms crossing over Tanglangla & Lachung la passes. Arrive at Sarchu plains and overnight in tented Camp.

Day 8 : Sarchu – Manali After a leisure breakfast drive 255 kms via Baralacha pass and along Jispa and Keylong town Manali. One will notice the beautiful transition from barren landscapes of Ladakh into more fertile valleys of upper Himachal. Cross Rohtang Pass 3980 Mt and drop your hotel in Manali.

Special welcome at the Kushok Bakula terminal & transfer to hotel. Day 2: Leh- After leisure breakfast, proceed for tour of Indus Valley includes visit to Hemis & Thiksey Monasteries. Followed by special Chinese hot lunch on the banks of River Indus. Later visit Shey Palace & back to Leh. Free for leisure at the market. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. 

Day  3: Leh – Nubra Valley - After an early breakfast at 8:00 am, drive to Nubra Valley via the world famous Khardongla Pass 18360 ft. Arrive and chekcin at the specially set up tented camp near the famous white silvery Sand Dunes of Nubra. Special Kashmiri Hot Lunch on arrival. Rest and relax at the camp. Afternoon visit  Dsikit & Hunder Monasteries. Dinner & overnight at the exclusive Camp.

Day 4: Nubra Valley
Leisure breakfast which shall be followed by an exciting Camel Safari on double Humped Camels through the white Sand Dunes of Nubra. Thereafter freshen up and enjoy a nice Indian Lunch at the camp. Afternoon drive to the secluded Yarabtso Lake and visit Panamic Hot Springs. Back to Sand Dune Camp by evening. Special dinner with Camp fire.

Day 5: Nubra Valley – Saboo- Morning leisure breakfast and then drive back to Leh via Khardongla pass. Enjoy your lunch on top of the world highest pass, an experience in itself.  Arrive Leh and checkin at the sprawling Ladakh Sarai Yurts at Saboo. Relax till evening. Around 7:00 pm proceed for a special Tibetan Dinner at the famous “Tibetan Kitchen Restaurant” in Leh (Reserved table). Overnight at Saboo.

Day 6: Saboo – Stok
Morning relax and around 11 am proceed for a special Ladakhi Lunch with a Ladakhi family at “Gyabthago Heritage Home” in Stok village. Experience Ladakhi traditional life & delicacies over a cup of butter tea & barley drinks. Learn making butter tea. After lunch visit the Royal Museum at Stok Palace and overnight stay at hotel Skittsal Resorts in Stok village.

Day 7 : Stok – Pangong
Morning drive 135 kms to Pangong Lake one of the most beautiful and romantic lakes in Asia. Absolutely quite, isolated and crystal blue. Checkin at the exclusively arranged Camp on the banks Pangong Lake at Spangmik. Lunch at the camp. Afternoon explore the lake and enjoy a romantic walk along the lake. Evening visit the tiny nomadic village located at a distance. A special Bar-be-cue Dinner on the banks of the Lake under twinkling stars and perhaps a bright moonlight is the highlight of the trip. Overnight at tented Camp.

Day 8: Pangong – Leh   
Leisure breakfast and then drive back to Leh, driving along Indus river and chekcin at the hotel on arrival back to Leh. Rest of the day at leisure for last minute shopping etc.  Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 9: Leh – Delhi.

Day 5 : Beima – Tingmogang  - Morning after breakfast drive 95 kms to Tingmogang village. Enroute stop at Khalatsi village for tea. Arrive Tingmogang by afternoon and chekcin at the Hotel. Lunch and later visit Nunnery school, the great fortified Tingmogang Palace and the Chamba monastery. It was once the capital of western Ladakh.  Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: Tingmogang – Leh  - Morning after b/fast visit Vipassana Valley which is an exclusive meditation valley in the village and then drive back to Leh 92 km. Checkin at the hotel in Leh. Rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 7: Leh to Khardongla pass

Day 4: Nubra Valley

Day 7: Pangong – Stok

Day 8: Stok – Ulleytokpo - After breakfast drive to Ulley Resort 65 kms from Leh, enroute visit the great statue of Maitreya Buddha at Likir and the 1000 year old murals of Alchi monastery. Arrive Ulley and checkin at the Resort. Relax and cool environs.
